Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born May 12, 1972, is an American actress. She is best known for her character as attorney Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), for which she was recognized with the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series, Miniseries, or Television Film. She was also on the NBC's Whitney (2011–2013) and ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash 2011–2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 12 1972. Her mother was an executive assistant for the United States Navy, and her father was an agent in the Naval Investigative Service. She grew up in a family that was constantly moving, including the cities of Washington, D.C., Arizona and Japan. Following in the footsteps of her father and grandmother who were artists, she began studying drawing, painting, and architecture from very young. She continued to pursue the visual arts, but had an increased interest in acting and was introduced into contemporary theater in college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a degree in Studio Art. In college, Seehorn was looking to enter the theater industry, thanks to the encouragement from her acting instructor. To be noticed she was employed in ancillary roles in D.C.'s theater industry. Although she eventually managed to land major roles in local theatre productions, and was forced be able to find odd jobs to make ends meet, she continued to work in the field of film as a teacher filmmaker. She soon was able to find roles in television productions. Her roles were often that were "very wry and sarcastic" as her idol Bea Arthur. Many of these roles ended up being cancelled after only two or three seasons. Seehorn was part of Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn plays Kim Wexler, who is an attorney and the lover of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
