Markie Post

Markie Post grew up in Walnut Creek, California and started her career on films and TV shows such as Card Sharks (1978) and "The New Card Sharks" (1986) and then went on to make such shows as Double Dare (1976) and appeared on such television projects like 1st to Die (2003), E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl (2001). She was perhaps best known for her character "Christine Sullivan" who was a Night Court star (1984). From 1984 to 1992, she appeared in 156 shows. She was the daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and noted nuclear physicist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7, 2015). With her second husband Michael A. Ross, she had two children: Katie Ross (born June 26, 1986) and Daisy Ross (30 March 1990). Her birthplace was Palo Alto, California and grew up in the vicinity of Walnut Creek in California. As an athletics coach, she attended Las Lomas High School located in Walnut Creek. Earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. She was a trick roper on The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). She was cremated , and her ashes were returned to Michael A. Ross. She was a lifelong Democrat. Markie Post died three months after her 71st birthday, on August 7 2021. She died just 27 days after Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984) co-star, passed away on the 11th of July, 2021. Even though the shows were not related, Night Court (1984) was a finale that saw Christine Sullivan's character leaving for Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) began with Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in Hearts Afire (1992), and later she moved to a more secluded area following her work in Washington DC.
