Following the birth of her daughter, her parents relocated to Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Performing and Visual Arts located in the Arts District. Then, she received an BFA diploma in acting from Stephens College and also studied at the British American Drama Academy. She was employed for six years by Dallas Theatre Center as well as one year at Encore Company. She started her acting career in theaters prior to her big screen debut. Her stage credits include productions like "As As You like It", "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", "Measure for Measure", "Baby" and "Chicago", among numerous others. Her most memorable performance was in Michael Cristofer’s HBO TV series Gia (1998) which she starred in alongside Angelina Jolie. She made her famous to audiences and critics. Elizabeth was able to show off her charismatic acting abilities following Frequency (2001 featuring Dennis Quaid) and Neil LaBute's sci-fi adventure Nurse Betty ((2000) with Rene Zellweger). Elizabeth Mitchell is an actor who has a long list of credits, including TV series, movies and theatres. During the filming of Frequency ((2000)), she broke her nose. Hertz Rent-A-Car ad for 1994.
