Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). At the age of 4 she got into the industry by doing voice overs as well as commercial work. Private Parts was her first film. After that, she starred in The Object of My Affection (1998) and later spent time on Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe", a child found in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah was able to work alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) multiple times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was a part of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The following year, she was a part on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), starring Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth and Joe Gould's Secret ((2000) and Falcone ((2000)). Sarah studied voice, jazz, hip hop, tap Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed in her Theatre and tap classes at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. She was home schooled by her mother up to 2nd grade. After that, she attended Public School. In the 6th grade, she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until her graduation in 2008. Sarah is now 18, moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she landed in the air with the name "My American Family". After her acceptance by the airline, the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Today, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) won many awards, including the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
