Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English actress, model director, activist, and actress. The most well-known part of her career is the role of Ginny Weasley which is the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for ten consecutive years until she was named as the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright was seen in several independent films following the Harry Potter series. These films were mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012, she graduated from University of the Arts London with a degree in filmmaking. Following her graduation from the University of the Arts London in 2012, she began creating short films through the production company BonBonLumiere. Her first film was directed by her called the coming-of-age thriller Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great reviews. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films used emotion and landscape as themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) featuring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She has directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is well-known for her environmental activism. she is also an ambassador for the charity Greenpeace and Lumos.
