Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actress and singer who was of Irish origin. The green-eyed beauty with flaming red hair was famous by her passionate and fiery roles in several American films. Her gorgeous appearance and natural beauty was well-loved. She was referred to in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". The characters she played on screen reflected her own brave, strong spirit who was fighting to be recognized and a part of the male-dominated world. She always described herself as the "tough Irish lass" who was never willing to compromise her respect or reputation to be able to play the roles she was entitled to through merit. She was a strong supporter of women's roles in both television and film and gained numerous followers because of it. The autobiography 'Tis Herself', written by her', published in 2004 gave an honest and honest description of her life experiences including her difficulties in climbing the ladder to success. She was an active woman who didn't hesitate in doing her own stunts. She appeared in more than 60 films and became a cult international star. After her departure from Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. He was a brigadier and chief pilot, and was a pioneer in transatlantic aviation. O'Hara retired after few years of marriage. Blair died tragically during an airplane crash in 1978. This ended O'Hara's joy. She was also diagnosed with uterine cancer in the same year and underwent an immediate surgery. She eventually recovered. She suffered from six heart attacks, short-term memories loss and type 2 diabetes in the following years. O'Hara aged 95, peacefully passed away in Boise on October 24, 2015.
