2 Chainz Biography

Tauheed Epps is an American rapper and hip-hop artist more popularly known as 2 Chainz. Georgia native, Epps started his career in music when he along with a friend from high school created the hip-hop group Playaz Circle. Their first album, titled "Supply and Demand" was a modest success. Epps released his album 'Based On a T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. Debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200, it was a huge success. It sold 147,000 copies in the initial week. The success of the album has earned him the status of a household name and he swiftly rose to the top of the US's hip-hop scene. He's been nominated for six Grammy awards to date, out of which he has been awarded one for his song 'No Problem'. After he was found in possession of promethazine and marijuana, he was detained aboard a plane departing Los Angeles International Airport in 2013. The incident hasn't had any effect on his popularity. His fourth and most recent studio album, titled "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music", came out in June 2017. "Based on the T.R.U." Story', 2 Chainz' debut studio album, is his first major work and his most successful. The album was an enormous hit and climbed to the top spot on the US Billboard 200. In only one week, it sold 147,000 copies. The album was sold out to 623,000 in a year. The album featured hit singles such as 'No Lie, 'Birthday Song and I'm Different. It was also nominated to win 'Best Rap Album at the 55th Grammy Awards. The reviews were mixed. 2 Chainz married Kesha Ward in 2013. The couple has three kids: Heaven, Harmony and Halo. He has a very successful career, but he is also known for his blunders in the legal system. He has been arrested numerous times for drug possession.
