Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter was born December 7th 1979. She is famous for her role as Debra Morgan in the Showtime series Dexter, for which she was awarded an Saturn Award in 2009, as well as for her role as Rebecca Harris in the CBS television series Limitless. In the year 2019, she started as Erica Shepherd, the lead character in the NBC drama The Enemy Within. Carpenter was initially recognized for her role as Emily Rose in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter was awarded the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and was also awarded an Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was named Breakout Performer during the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They tied the knot on New Year's Eve 2008 in California and publicly appeared together for the first time as a couple married at the 66th Golden Globe Awards in January 2009. Hall and Carpenter released a December 2010 statement announcing they had filed for divorce after being separated "for a while". The divorce was finalized in December 2011 due to unresolved disagreements. However, the couple remain close friends. Carpenter and Seth Avett, musician, were announced to be married and expecting their first child on February 10, 2015. Carpenter was eight and half months pregnant at the time she filmed the pilot episode of Limitless, had her son in May of 2015. Carpenter and Avett were married in May 2016.
